In short; 'sistahhood' ends at the courthouse door when it comes to child support.
There are some folk in this world who won't believe that you are a new person--a better person--no matter what evidence you present to them. Brothers, I'll make it plain.
Sometimes, second wives are better wives. And the second wives--who are first place in our hearts said, 'AMEN'.
ALL WILL BE SET RIGHT IN THE END:
Rest assured, brothers, all will be set right in the end. While we--and our wives--are pushing for reform of the child support system via better visitation enforcement, remember that the kids whom you don't get to see (for one reason or another) know that you exist.
Kids are not as dumb as we may think.
They have their own information-gathering network of friends and mentors.
The truth is getting to them about who you are--the new you! And, that new spouse who is not trying to 'replace' their mother, but who is--by commitment--your wife.
I heard a story a few years back that should bless you. Once, a divorce took place in a rather large family.
The marriage yielded ten kids, and the mother did her best to block the father from seeing them. Yet, when each one of them became 'of age' they sought their father out and wanted to know why he didn't 'see' them.
The father, who had remarried, told them the truth--that their mother was the roadblock in the process--not him.
One by one, the children sorted out the truth for themselves, and the relationship between them and their father was eventually restored--and their mother had to explain--to her grown children--why she kept their Daddy from them all those years.
Water does seek its own level.
For those men-and women--who may be in the role of non-custodial parents; who have wrestled with the hurt and pain of not seeing their kids, even though the checks go in like clockwork, take heart!
Continue to do the right thing!
Your kids are more interested in how you handle your setbacks--rather than your victories.
Given time, and prayer, just like Job, the latter portion of your life will be sweeter.
God does keep accurate, and unfailing, records. Even if the government and your 'formers' do not.
