First you start brainstorming. Use an ordinary notepad or sheets of paper and jot down all your ideas. Jot down every single idea, no matter how insignificant you think it might be.
The next step would be to find an appropriate business plan template. I say appropriate because many templates were made for bricks and mortar businesses, not Internet businesses. As you may already know, there is a fundamental difference.
Templates are good to give you an idea of the topics to write about, but they are only templates. They won't provide you with the relevant content that you need. That is why the brainstorming part is so important.
The brainstorming does not stop there either. I suggest that you walk around with a little notepad and anytime an idea comes to your head, just jot it down. Take it everywhere you go, to work, school, church, restroom, the park and even to bed.
Also keep in mind that a business plan is never written in stone, it should be under constant modification for improvements.
